You will be Free to Live, Love, Work and Play in the Full Creative Expression of Your Authentic Self
New World Meditation is easy to learn, easy to practice, and profoundly transformational.

Awakening brings you into a new world. You have confidence because you know what is right for you. You guide your life toward choices that feel good. You are restored; your body is abundantly alive, filled with sensation, no longer burdened by the pain of the past and fears of the future. This practice brings the end of suffering by resolving old injuries and inner conflict so that you live joyfully in the Now.

New World Meditation is a practice of self-inquiry as well as self-reflection. It has all the proven health and stress reducing benefits of mindfulness practice. At the same time it includes a revolutionary research based way of emotional healing called Focusing, discovered in America in the 1960’s and supported by current neuroscience. We include effective tools from Focusing so you learn how to use the interruptions, so common and often frustrating in meditation, as a resource for healing and expanding consciousness. Every day is a positive experience as you relax, release the interruptions and reconnect with your true feelings, needs and wants.

What a treasure this book is.

Contemplative practice has always drawn me, including various forms of Buddhist meditation. However, my relationship with Buddhism has been fraught, primarily due to its agnosticism (at the very least) towards the self and soul.

But Buddhism eventually led me to a form of practice which I’ve found deeply beneficial: Focusing. And while I’ve explored various approaches to Focusing, New World Meditation is the one that has really grabbed me. One sits with oneself, one feels out and touches the experiential stream, and allows it to just be. There are times when sitting this way is deeply healing. There are other times when sitting this way, in my experience, prepares the way for future healing.

One of the values I hold most deeply is that intimacy with one's own essence is the journey towards the divine. The ability to see our own essence without distortion or fear is that which allows spiritual evolution to happen. New World Meditation fosters that intimacy, without any heavy or rigid ideological framework.

Lucinda and David’s book explains this form of meditation and discusses, with deep wisdom and compassion, stages along this journey of healing. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

New World Meditation. This book joins a growing list of books written by therapists who have discovered the efficacy of meditation in therapy. That alone is enough to recommend it as the more general value of meditation as a healing experience is well documented at this point. But the primary author’s personal experience with mindfulness meditation dovetailed perfectly—perhaps serendipitously—with the her preferred therapeutic technique known to the professional world as focusing.
As a long term meditator, the very word focusing, resonates. As used in the process called New World Meditation (NWM), it enhances the experience of meditation by helping make sense of the normal distractions from single-pointed attention. But the authors go well beyond the obvious suggesting methods to work with one’s wounded child to bring healing in the course of extended meditation. They assert, and I can believe, that the methods described in this little book accelerate and deepen the healing process.
The writing Well organized with a front section that engages any human who is conscious of her wounding and residual pain from childhood. Even those of us who are not so conscious, are likely to discover wounding as we meditate. NWM can offer options for turning that discovery into healing a experience while avoiding the frustrations that often accompanies the experience of meditators. Sections Two and Three take the reader through a step-by-step process with plenty of explanation and emotional support for the journey. The latter may be an additional distinguishing factor of the book. It is not just an intellectual trip, the writing style is pleasantly repetitive, offering support in the manner of an in the room therapist. Five Stars
For over seven decades I have avoided meditation. My notion of meditation was that you have to sit and do nothing but breath, temporarily forget everything you care about and then let your self discover the metaphysical world. I figured let the Buddhist monks do that and give me a one page summary.

Dr. Lucinda Gray started to change my mind when she wrote my brain is hardware and that I have had a mind operating system since the womb. Having worked with computers I related to that. Then she says I got my personality in the first two months, much of my life perspective from the quality of my bonding in the first two years, and that after adapting to the stresses of puberty and other milestones my point of view was pretty well cooked by age 24.

After grasping that I realized I’ve been meditating when I create characters for my novels. I delve into their early years and imagine what happened to cause them to do the wondrous or devious things they do in the narrative present. New World Meditation has got me thinking I ought to do that for myself. The book is a sensible, understandable guide for figuring yourself out and liking the result. I suggest you get the book and give it a try.
As a practicing Buddhist, I have read a lot about meditation. However, my practice of it has been fraught with difficulties. This book is not a Buddhist text, but has been enormously helpful. My meditation has improved trmendously and now I feel more relaxed and able to confront my inner demons.
It is strange that an approach developed by a Psychologist rather than a Busshist has been so helpful. The step by step instructions in the book are very clear, practical and insightful. They worked for me and hopefully they will work for both non Buddhist and Bhuddist readers. This book is highly recommended.
